Dan Bilawsky, the music coordinator for the Harborfields Central School District and band director at Oldfield Middle School, recently received the New York State School Music Association’s Music Educator Innovation Award at the All-State Conference in Rochester. It was presented by NYSSMA Immediate Past President David Brown and retired Harborfields Central School District Music Director and NYSSMA School Music News Editor Tom Gellert. This award was established to recognize new and creative approaches to music education.
