Harborfields High School seniors Francis DeGregorio, Alexander Meagher, and Andrew Walden, were named semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Since 1955, the National Merit Program has recognized and honored academically talented students of the United States. This year, more than 3.5 million students from across the country took the PSAT/National Merit Qualifying Test, but only a small amount met the Selection Index scores.

We are thrilled to announce that Francis, Alexander, and Andrew scored among the top 16,000 students nationwide, making them some of the highest-scoring entrants in the state and placing them in the top one percent of all entrants.

This recognition speaks to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of these incredible students.

“I join our entire Harborfields community in congratulating our National Merit Semifinalists,” said Dr. Manning, Superintendent of Schools. “These students have worked so hard as evidenced by scoring in the top 1% of all students across the nation on the PSAT exam. We look forward to celebrating their continued success in the future.”

The competition will continue through the spring and the participants will need to meet additional criteria to be considered as finalists and eventually scholarship recipients. We wish Francis, Alexander, and Andrew the best of luck moving forward.
