The Harborfields Special Education Parent Teachers Association is hosting a parent presentation, Building Resilience in our Children, on Wednesday, December 4 from 7 - 8 PM at Oldfield Middle School.
Dr. Gallagher will kickoff the event and cover topics such as mindset on how to approach children when they're struggling, sturdy parenting, the benefits of being uncomfortable, and model of approach, cope, recover.
Parents will participate in breakout sessions geared toward your child's age. In the elementary session, the approach, cope, recover model will be used to discuss friendships, class/teacher changes, cell phones, not being invited or included to something, and more. The secondary session will focus on not making a team or extracurricular, social media, and social groups and gatherings.
The breakout sessions are designed to help you help your child and provide you with the skills to cope as a parent.
All parents of all grade levels are encouraged to attend this informative event!
