On the evening of Tuesday, September 24, 36 Harborfields High School students were inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Currently, Tri-M has over 2,100 chapters in all 50 states, involving more than 84,000 student musicians. HHS students took an oath to perform, lead, and serve. This prestigious honor is granted to students who are both musically gifted and academically capable.

At this year’s ceremony, retired math teacher Ms. Cathy Purcell returned to Harborfields High School to speak to the students. Ms. Purcell had a longstanding relationship and connection to the music department and her words certainly left an impression on the students.

The ceremony also included honorary inductions for Board of Education Trustee, Rachael Risinger, and Interim Principal, Mr. Neil Lederer, and an outstanding performance by HHS senior, Amelia Freiberger.

Many thanks to Tri-M advisor, Ms. Scilla, and the Executive Board for their hard work and dedication. We look forward to the way these students enhance not only the music department, but the entire school community through their performances and service.
