Harborfields Central School District has been awarded the AP Honor Roll Gold with Access designation.

This honor places the district among a select group of districts noted for excellence and equitable access to advanced coursework.

The award reflects the district's success in meeting key benchmarks linked to postsecondary readiness, including:

  • College Culture: 78% of our graduating students have taken at least one AP exam, supporting a college-focused culture within the high school.
  • College Credit: 70% of our graduating cohort achieved scores of 3 or higher on the AP exam, aligning with college credit standards.
  • College Optimization: 29% of our cohort has taken five or more AP exams across grades, with at least one exam in 9th or 10th grade, encouraging a balanced approach to AP participation throughout high school.

Schools on the AP Honor Roll are also eligible for the AP Access Award, which celebrates schools whose AP participation among underrepresented minority and low-income students mirrors the overall school demographics - demonstrating Harborfields' dedication to diversity and equitable access in the AP program.

This achievement reflects the impact of the strategic action plan, which prioritizes expanding opportunities for students, delivering targeted professional development, and enhancing support for all students.

"Once again, our students have demonstrated outstanding achievement with the support of their wonderful teachers and caring families," said Dr. Rory Manning, Superintendent of Schools. "College and career readiness has been a focus of the work of the Strategic Plan and it is clear that this work is providing fantastic opportunities for our students to leave high school with many college credits in hand. I am particularly proud of the Access recognition through the College Board which signifies the efforts of our administrators, counselors, and teachers to ensure that ALL students have access to the most rigorous curriculum."

The Harborfields Central School District is proud to be recognized for their efforts in building a robust AP program that serves all students and reflects the district's commitment to educational excellence and equity.
