"What’s Happening" at W.D.P.S.?

Walk for a Wish
Our students raised $19,800 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through our “Walk for a Wish” fundraiser. It was a wonderful community event and our funds were able to send a little girl and her family to Disney. This event truly illustrates the power of ‘students making a difference’. We even made the paper!
Caught in the Act
In alignment with our Character Education Curriculum, our students have been getting “Caught in the Act” when they demonstrate good character. When students are ‘caught’, they’re name is announced over the loud speaker and they earn a place on our two “Caught in the Act” bulletin boards. Whether they're helping a friend, demonstrating kindness, or being a strong role model for their peers, our students are always being "caught” with good character!
Field Trip to HorseAbility Riding School
The students in Mrs. Sheil's class and Ms. Burkart's class enjoyed a special field trip to the HorseAbility Therapeutic Riding Program. Students were able to groom and ride horses and were provided with a great opportunity to enhance their sensory-motor and gross motor skills. It was a great time for all!
