Harborfields Educators Honored at SCOPE School District Awards Dinner
On Monday, March 24, SCOPE Education Services held their 24th Annual School District Awards Dinner, recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to education across Long Island. The Harborfields Central School District was proud to celebrate three remarkable individuals for their dedicated service to students, staff, and the community.
Dr. Danielle DeLorenzo, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, and Ms. Denise Campbell, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Administration, were both honored with an Outstanding Administrator Service Award. Ms. Susan Broderick, Board of Education President, received the Outstanding School Board Service Award.
For more than two decades, SCOPE has recognized teachers, support staff, school board members, community members, and administrators for their invaluable contributions to education.
Dr. Danielle DeLorenzo has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout her time in Harborfields, spearheading transformative initiatives that have positively impacted all grade levels. Her accomplishments include implementing robust elementary literacy and MTSS practices, expanding the district’s CTE program, enhancing staff professional development programs, and overseeing the implementation of the Seal of Civic Readiness. As the district’s Chief Information Officer, she has managed complex responsibilities with precision, fostering data-driven decision-making and aligning curriculum with state standards to elevate instructional practices and student outcomes.
Ms. Denise Campbell has played a pivotal role in advancing district operations with her meticulous attention to detail and visionary leadership. During her tenure, she has implemented innovative processes to improve efficiency, support staff, and further the district’s mission. She expertly navigates complex personnel matters, fosters collaboration among stakeholders, and provides critical leadership during challenging times, including her exemplary response as COVID-19 Coordinator. Her work with the district’s Strategic Plan, Social Emotional Wellness Council, and numerous training initiatives underscores her commitment to student success and staff development.
“Dr. DeLorenzo and Ms. Campbell’s unwavering dedication, strategic vision, and exceptional work ethic have set a standard of excellence in our district,” said Dr. Rory Manning, Superintendent of Schools. “Their leadership and contributions to the Harborfields communiy have had a profound impact. We are thrilled that they are being recognized by SCOPE for their outstanding service.”
Ms. Susan Broderick has served on the Board of Education for four years, first as the Vice President and currently as the President. Before joining the Board, she worked tirelessly on behalf of students as a Teaching Assistant and as President of the Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA). Through her leadership, the district has initiated numerous programs that benefit all students, a testament to her advocacy and dedication to education.
“Ms. Broderick is a careful listener who remains objective to ensure that the priorities of the district are addressed,” shared Dr. Rory Manning, Superintendent of Schools. “I speak for the entire Harborfields family when I say we greatly appreciate Ms. Broderick’s commitment to our students and our community.”
The Harborfields Central School District extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. DeLorenzo, Ms. Campbell, and Ms. Broderick on this well-deserved recognition. Their dedication and leadership continue to inspire and enhance the educational experience for the entire school community.
SCOPE Education Services, founded in 1964, is a private, not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, permanently chartered by the New York State Board of Regents to provide services to school districts in New York State. SCOPE offers services to local school districts including programs for educators, parents and children. SCOPE offerings include professional development, conferences, training, child care, preschool, elementary enrichment courses, outdoor education, summer environmental adventure programs and workshops/speakers bureau for parents and students. In addition SCOPE provides services for employment including courses required for New York State certification. SCOPE represents Long Island as a regional study council and is a member of the Study Council Alliance of New York State (SCANYS) and the National School Development Council (NSDC).
