Harborfields Hosts In-House Music Festival

On Friday, May 16, the fifth grade orchestra, fifth grade band, fifth grade chorus, sixth grade orchestra, sixth grade band, and sixth grade chorus came together for a day of learning, collaboration, and fun at the Harborfields Music Festival.
Each of the six performing ensembles took part in dedicated 30-minute workshops, guided by talented conductors, who happen to be make up our incredible music staff. Students then had the unique opportunity to work with guest clinicians Alan Walter (Orchestra), Don Sherman (Band), and Marie Michalopoulos (Chorus). Together, they sharpened their skills and gained invaluable musical advice.
The grand finale? The more than 200 student musicians spent a well-earned afternoon of fun at Adventureland!
"It was a great day for our 5th and 6th grade performing groups and a wonderful way to celebrate their accomplishments this year,” shared Mr. Nick Rinaldi, fifth grade orchestra director and coordinator of the event. “I can't overstate how positive an educational experience it was for them to work with such amazing clinicians. Events like this have a long-lasting impact, and this is a day that these students are sure to remember for a long time."
Thank you to Mr. Rinaldi for coordinating this special event and all the music teachers for their participation and guidance.
