Success Across the Board

On Tuesday, May 20, business students and teachers attended the Long Island Business Teachers’ Association Awards Luncheon.
At the luncheon, three Harborfields High School students were recognized for their impressive finishes in the LIBTA’s annual contest. We would like to congratulate Sienna Moss who placed second in Sports Marketing, Heidi Chavez who placed third in the Elevator Pitch category, and Devin Turer who placed fifth in Business Calculations. The annual contest encourages students from across the region to compete in a variety of topics to expand their business knowledge and add a meaningful addition to their resume accomplishments.
The district has not had winners in this contest since 2022 and has never had winners in these categories which is a testament to their ever-expanding business courses and experiences.
Additionally, the LIBTA named Dr. Alison Matthews the 2025 Teacher of the Year for her invaluable contributions to Business education! Dr. Matthews was nominated by her colleagues in the Harborfields Business Department.
“Dr. Matthews is more than deserving of this recognition,” shared Dr. Manning, Superintendent of Schools. “I could not be more proud of her and all that she has accomplished!”
