Two HHS Students Represent Harborfields at Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute

Congratulations are in order for Harborfields High School students Yoselin Benitez Almendares and Vincenza Czekaj, who were selected to participate in the Long Island Regional Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute (PRHYLI).
This prestigious program offers students the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into state government while sharpening their leadership, advocacy and civic engagement skills.
The theme of this year's institute is Democracy in the Age of AI. Students will attend five training sessions throughout the year and could possibly be selected to represent the Long Island Delegation at the statewide PR/HYLI assembly in Albany. At the first of four training sessions, Yoselin and Vincenza jumped right in and represented Harborfields with pride.
This is the first year Harborfields High School has submitted applications to participate in PRHYLI and they are starting strong with two outstanding student leaders!
A special recognition must be given to Mrs. Anna Cervini, who helped facilitate this opportunity.
