The Harborfields Central School District proudly welcomes two instructional leaders who will facilitate professional learning, mentor teachers, and support all learners. At its regular meeting on July 7, 2026, the Board of Education approved the appointments of Ms. Meghan White as Director of Humanities and Ms. Donna Kam as Director of STEM.

Ms. White currently serves as a social studies teacher and as an administrator of an evening alternative high school run by Eastern Suffolk BOCES. Ms. White’s depth of knowledge and vision for the future of the humanities at Harborfields set her apart from other candidates. She brings extensive expertise in curriculum, instruction, and literacy development, along with the ability to articulate a clear vision for advancing student achievement.  

Ms. White holds a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta, a Master of Science in Secondary Education from Dowling College, and School Building Leader and School District Leader certifications from The College of Saint Rose. 

As the Director of STEM, Ms. Kam brings a combination of classroom experience, curriculum leadership, and vision for expanding STEM opportunities that make her extremely well-qualified for the role. She served as a science teacher and curriculum writer within the New York City Department of Education before continuing in those roles at the Syosset Central School District, where she also served as the science department liaison.  

Ms. Kam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology Education from York College, a Master’s of Science in Literacy Education from Mercy College, and School Building Leader and School District Leader certifications from The College of Saint Rose.

Following their appointments by the Board of Education, Ms. White and Ms. Kam will officially begin serving in their new positions on July 8.
