Happy Flag Day!
Today, our nation celebrates Flag Day, a time to reflect on the enduring symbol of our country and the ideals of freedom, unity, and democracy that our flag represents. This year's observance is especially meaningful as we continue to commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Across Harborfields, students have been exploring the people, events, and principles that shaped our nation through a variety of classroom lessons, projects, discussions, and special activities connected to the semi-quincentennial celebration. These experiences help our students better understand the sacrifices, aspirations, and shared values that continue to define our country 250 years later.
As part of this important commemoration, we remind and encourage all Harborfields families to take advantage of the Long Island 250th Passbook that was provided to every student in the district. The passbook offers a wonderful opportunity to visit historic sites throughout Suffolk County and learn more about the significant role our local community played in our nation's history. Students who visit all fifteen designated locations within the Town of Huntington and collect the required stamps will receive a special proclamation from the Town and be recognized at a future Board of Education meeting. As we continue our district-wide celebration of America's 250th anniversary, I hope families will enjoy exploring these sites together and creating lasting memories while gaining a deeper appreciation for our local and national history.

Hunting-Tony’s Thank you to Dr. Dave Bennardo, Huntington Town Councilman and Huntington Town Councilwoman Theresa Mari for bringing the Broadway magic back to Harborfields for this year's Hunting-Tony's! This annual awards program celebrates excellence in high school theater throughout the Town of Huntington. We are so proud of all our nominees and congratulate our winners: Eurydice for Best Scenery in a Play and Chicago for Best Technical Production Musical in Sound! Way to go!

Social Justice Ambassadors Recognized
Members of Harborfields High School’s Social Justice Ambassadors were recognized at a recent meeting of the Town of Huntington. The Social Justice Ambassadors consist of groups of students from each high school within the Town who meet throughout the year to discuss social issues facing students today, and they also design programs to bring back to their schools to improve the sense of community between our students. Pictured below are Aubree Kuhn and Mariana Cortes Morales.

Town of Huntington Scholar Athletes
“Being a scholar athlete means you refused to compromise, said Supervisor Ed Smyth during this year’s Scholar Athlete ceremony’s opening at Huntington Town Hall. “You didn’t choose between academic rigor and athletic competition. You chose mastery of both.” This year’s scholar athletes from Harborfields are Class of 2026 Valedictorian Leo Lin and Riley Lyons. Their exceptional accomplishments in academics and athletics earned them recognition among the township’s top scholar athletes. Congratulations, Riley and Leo!

Robotics Competes at the National Level
The high school robotics team was headed to Kentucky for an incredible opportunity to compete, connect, and explore the world of engineering beyond the classroom. We are excited to report that the team returned with new skills, new experiences, and some well-earned recognition. They did a great job competing at a whole new level, winning two awards from fellow teams, and even lent a helping hand to a team from Kazakhstan!
This trip was an unforgettable experience for our students, and we must thank Mrs. Scarth and the families who helped make this new venture possible!
