HF Celebrates Homecoming!

HF Celebrates Homecoming! thumbnail261722

Homecoming in Harborfields is a week-long celebration!

The week kicked off with a high school marching band and kickline performance for Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School students. The students clapped and cheered as they watched the performers command the field. Following the performance, students were invited onto the field to learn a real Harborfields marching band command. This beloved annual event helps connect students across buildings through music and the arts.

Next up, the high school hosted their annual bonfire. Thanks to the Greenlawn Fire Department for allowing this event to continue in the safest way possible! There was live music, food trucks, and games for students to enjoy. At the end of the evening the Homecoming Court was announced!

On Thursday, there was more fun in store with the carnival put on by the Leadership Class. Again, students were given the opportunity to come together through games, music, food, and fun. Throughout the week, students decorated the hallways of HHS and continued to build their parade floats.

Friday was pep rally day! The afternoon provided lots of laughs and memories for students and staff. The building was overflowing with energy and enthusiasm as students enjoyed the last official event before Homecoming. X and Y were crowned Homecoming Queen and King based on student votes!

The main event took place on Saturday. The parade kicked off at 11:30 AM with the marching band leading the way. Following behind were the class floats. The theme this year was decades and each class showed their creativity in the designs. Ultimately, the junior class float, "the 60s," took home the prize! The parade route was filled with community members cheering on our musicians, athletes, and students. While the outcome of the game did not go our way, fans supported the Tornadoes from the first quarter to the very last play of the game. Win or lose, the Tornado spirit is strong!
