Harborfields Music Students Selected for SCMEA All-County Festivals

Music students from Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School, Oldfield Middle School, and Harborfields High School have been selected to participate in the Suffolk County Music Educators Association’s (SCMEA) All-County festivals!
Each year Harborfields is represented by a large group of talented musicians. This year, an incredible group of 70 students spanning grades 5 – 12 will represent the district at the All-County festival concerts. Students are selected based on how well they did at their NYSSMA solo adjudications last spring. These musicians, recognized as some of the best in the area in their grade levels and divisions, kicked off Music in our Schools month with their first SCMEA rehearsal on Saturday, March 1. They will have two additional rehearsals and perform a concert with their SCMEA ensembles on Sunday, March 9.
“We're extremely proud of these students and what they've achieved in regard to their SCMEA All-County status,” shared K-12 Music Department Coordinator Dan Bilawsky. “This recognition is a testament to their tremendous determination and efforts, the work of the district’s highly dedicated music staff, and the contributions and support of the entire Harborfields community, both within and beyond our school walls.”
