Universal Pre-K
Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program
2026-2027 School Year
The 2026-2027 Universal Pre-Kindergarten program is funded by a New York State Grant, not district funds.
The Harborfields Central School District is pleased to offer a Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program for the 2026-2027 school year, pending New York State budget approval and grant funds awarded to the district. All children who will be 4 years of age on or before December 1, 2026, are eligible to participate in the 2026-2027 UPK lottery if the child is a resident of the district.
For the 2026-2027 school year, the district will offer a full-day program. The classes will be held Monday through Friday, and the program will follow the school district’s school calendar. There is NO cost to participate in this program; however families are responsible for providing transportation to and from the program for their child. The curriculum follows NYS prekindergarten standards and aligns with the Harborfields CSD curriculum.
Selection for the UPK program is lottery-based and requires the completion of an application. If you would like to enter your child in the UPK lottery, please complete the online application no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026. If your child is selected through the lottery, you will receive a notification in the mail with information on how to register.
If you have any questions regarding the UPK program, please contact Dr. Danielle DeLorenzo, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, at (631)754-5320 ext. 6325.
